-Working principle:
The KIPP&ZONEN CMP solar radiation meter transfers radiation energy to its black receiver surface and converts it into thermal energy through absorption. The special black coating has an absorption coefficient close to 1 throughout the entire spectral range, which leads to a measurable increase in temperature due to this thermal energy. The surface of the receiver with blackened thermoelectric sensors usually meets the standard orientation requirements for spectra and spectra. The temperature rise is usually determined by measuring the difference between the surface temperature of the receiver and the temperature of the radiator, such as the housing sensor of a contactor.
The KIPP&ZONEN CMP solar radiation meter is applied in meteorological and climate networks around the world, providing reliable measurement results for solar power plant site selection and capacity prediction.
The KIPP&ZONEN CMP series solar radiation meters have good performance and high accuracy in measuring total solar radiation. This solar radiation meter does not require power input and is suitable for use in remote sites or on-site research with limited power supply. Each solar total radiation meter has a separate calibration coefficient/sensitivity. The signal output voltage is very low, usually around 10mV under clear weather conditions. To measure 1W/m2 irradiance, a data recorder with an accuracy higher than 10mV is required. This usually means the use of meteorological data recorders. Industrial type analog inputs generally have insufficient sensitivity. In this case, it is recommended to use the SMP series solar radiation meter for total solar radiation measurement. Both CMP3 and CMP10 have built-in desiccants that can last for at least 10 years, aiming to reduce maintenance costs. Other CMP product selection also includes automatic indication of desiccants, which are placed in easily accessible drying boxes. The drying box should be checked once a month and the desiccant should be replaced for the solar radiation meter if necessary.
